The European correspondent of the National Intelligencer, writing from Paris, states that when the news of the American victories on the Rio Grande reached Paris, the most lively satisfaction pervaded the Assembly then in session, and only Mr. Guizot and a few of his party were chapfallen. The same correspondent also states that he was told by Frenchmen, that should war between England and the United States occur, 20,000 French volunteers, under the command of experienced officers, would at once endeavor to reach America, for the purpose of joining in the invasion of Canada.
