Full Text

From PHILADELPHIA, JUNE 20.

We have frequently had occasion to remark the impropriety of the conduct of some persons residing in the vicinity of this populous city, in turning at large, on the commons, their horses. One of these animals, of a vicious and dangerous character, a few days since, knocked down and killed a young child, named Joseph Bowyer. The owner of the horse has been recognized by the mayor, for his appearance at the next mayor's court, to answer for the offence of letting him go at large; and we sincerely hope, that his fate will be a warning to others, and prevent the dangerous practice above alluded to.
