SENATE TO INVESTIGATE LOAN TO CHICAGO BANK

WASHINGTON, July 16. - An investigation into every loan made thus far by the Federal Reconstruction Finance Corporation will be made by a committee of the Senate. Topping the list of loans to be probed is one of $80,000,000 made to the Central-Republic Bank of Chicago, of which Charles Gates Dawes is president. Until recently Dawes was chairman of the Reconstruction Finance Corporation but he resigned from that position to reenter the banking business.
