RECENT LYNCHING
HERE IN TAMPA
TAMPA, Fla.
BECAUSE of the Negro, long a
law abiding citizen, generally;
BECAUSE of the fair attitude
on the part of the leading
white citizens toward the Ne-
gro residents of Tampa;
BECAUSE of the outrage com-
mitted Tuesday morning. Jan.
30th, when an officer of the
law at the city prison released
two men in the wee hours of the
morning, a helpless Negro pri-
soner;
BECAUSE of the fair name of
Florida, our county and our
city having been besmirched
with this heinous act; and
BECAUSE of the helplessness in
which the better class of Ne-
groes find themselves ;
BE IT RESOLVED that the Inter
denominational Negro Ministers'
Alliance unanimously adopts the
resolution deprecating the offic-
ers of the law to use every means
to fix the responsibility for the
act, cause the guilty person or
persons to pay the extreme pen-
alty, and to make life more se-

Tampa, Hillsborough County and
of Florida
BE IT RESOLVED that copies
of this resolution be sent to the
Governor of the State. States At-
torney, Hillsborough County. May
or of Tampa, Tampa Chief of
Police. Hillsborough County She-
riff, The Tampa Tribune The
Tampa Times, The Tampa Bulle-
tin, and the Tampa World.
