HOUSES WILL HAVE
HOME-GROWN ROSE
ON CHRISTMAS TABLE

Mr. and Mrs. Donald House are going to have a pink rose on their Christmas table. Probably other folks will, too, but the unusual part is that is a home-grown rose.

When the Houses took up their rose bushes this fall and put them in the basement, Mr. House, instead of putting the basement door back on, put a piece of plastic over the opening. Sun and Wrangell's unusually mild weather have brought the rose into blossom.

Mr. and Mrs. House, the J. M. Steears and the George Sumptions have Douglas fir Christmas trees this year. They were shipped up by an uncle of Mr. House who grows them for the market. House added that next year, if others are interested, he could arrange for a larger order.
