New York, December 1.
We mentioned yesterday that an accident happened to Mr. Wallack on his way to Philadelphia, and are sorry to learn, it was more serious than at first reported. It appears that the Citizens' Post Coach, which left here on Wednesday for Philadelphia, in descending the hill near New Brunswick bridge was upset, and dashed to pieces against the partition of the bridge. The passengers were Mr. Lent, Mr. Wallack, Col. Tyler, Mr. Kyle and sister, and Mr. and Mrs. Capen, several of whom were injured. Mrs. Capen's arm was broken. A letter from N. Brunswick says- "Mr. Wallack's leg was broken a little below the knee, and in a second place about four inches above the ankle, with a corresponding wound in the soft parts--it is what surgeons denominate a compound fracture and a bad one--admitting the most favorable result, the case must be attended with much suffering and long confinement. He is now as comfortable as could be expected after so unfortunate an adventure."
