The victory which Mr. Canning has obtained over the powerful "Tory and High Church" party that divided the Cabinet against him, is exceedingly remarkable, and forms a curious and instructive commentary on the British practical constitution. Some doubt may be entertained as to the points whether he has been able to compose an efficient, strong ministry, and whether he can long sustain himself against the array which will be organized to overpower him. An array that cannot fail to be seconded by whatever influence may be brought to bear from the Continent on British internal concerns.
