LONDON, Dec. 11.—The judges of the court of appeal today held that the Mutual Reserve Fund Life Association was liable for the amount of $10,000 on the life insurance policy effected by the late James Maybrick in favor of his wife, the American woman now in prison under the sentence, after having been found guilty of causing his death by administering poison to him, "provided that the wife does not benefit by the payment."
