Full Text

A party of British seamen employed in transporting some heavy guns to the Heights near Helder, observed in a field a little below them, a herd of fat bullocks, of about fifty in number, which had been collected for the use of the French army -- Having got the heavy guns up to the point ordered, they dashed off after the bullocks, and actually drove them behind our line, then warmly engaged with the enemy. -- Two hundred French cavalry pursued them, but were presently checked, and obliged to retreat with the loss of several men and horses, by some of the brave comrades of our seamen, who fired grape shot from the guns which they had that moment brought up.
