Full Text

Yesterday as a waggon was passing over London-bridge, laden with military baggage, it was stopped by the toll-gatherers, who insisted upon being paid the usual toll ; but the soldiers who guarded the waggon. insisted on going toll-free, as the baggage was for his Majesty's troops now abroad in Germany: whereupon great altercation ensued, and would probably have ended in bloodshed, had not a peaceable quaker, at that instant passing by, put an end to the squabble, by paying the toll himself. and desiring both parties to be satisfied.

No one can be at a loss who forwarded his Majesty's service most, be whose principles forbid him to take up arms, or they whose principles are the reverse.
