Full Text
With all the advantages that William N. Boggs had if he had struck New York in his youth, he would have been a prominent figure in the financial world to-day instead of now being known as No. 76 in the Trenton Penitentiary. He was the luckiest man in the sensational trials which followed the looting of the First National Bank of Dover. Strange as it may appear, several of those intimately connected with the trials have died since Boggs was convicted and sentenced. Thos. S. Clark, out of all those said to be connected with the looting of the bank with Boggs is serving time in prison. There are numerous persons who think that Tom Clark has been sufficiently punished for the part he took in the grand steal which wiped out the surplus of the Dover bank. We think if Boggs is a fit subject for clemency from President Roosevelt, then Clark is also deserving of a pardon.
