Sam Frank Continues to Drill

Sam Frank, owner of a large tract of land in the Carson lake vicinity, is still exploring the underground mysteries of his ranch. He recently started to sink for whatever he could find, being actuated largely by a desire to develop an artesian water supply and went down between four and five hundred feet with his first well. He abandoned the notion of going deeper with his first attempt and has since kept the drilling outfit at work until—he now has about half a dozen wells of different depths. In every instance small flows of water were developed and he still has hope of getting a strong flowing well. In the meantime he has found unmistakable signs of oil, samples of the sludge having been sent out for laboratory investigations.
