Full Text
Extract of a letter from a sprightly son of Mars, encamped on the common at Boston, dated August 15.
"The four delegates set off in a thick fog; the first this season. When their carriage, with four horses, came opposite the encampment of the 43d regiment, one of the horses run rusty, and was obliged to be changed: This occasioning some delay, captain H-- of that regiment, advanced to the carriage, and told the gentlemen, that he presumed the coachman must certainly have made a mistake, and put in a tory horse. The Boston Paoli tomorrow, quite discomfited; he, and the Boston Cromwell, could not jog their political horses together; the former is too violent, and the Gracchi do not want to bring things to an issue for some time. It is somewhat remarkable, that the person spoken of should have fixed his residence at the Paoli's Head; nor is it less remarkable, that the said head should have a crack in it; but strange as they may seem, both these circumstances are literally true."
