We hear from Exeter, that last Thursday Se'nnight the House of Mr. John Bond of that Town was struck by Lightning and Mrs. Bond who was walking the Room instantaneously killed. Though the House was very low, being but one Story, the Lightning struck the Top of the Chimney and threw off 3 Bricks passed down the Roof upon the Plate broke off a Piece of it, and entered a Stud against which hung a Looking-Glass. There being a Breach in the Plaistering behind the Looking-Glass, it is supposed the Lightning was attracted in it's Passage down the Stud, by the Quick-silver on the Glass, by which Means the Glass was broke into very small Pieces, though the Frame was left standing unhurt. Mrs. Bond being that instant opposite the Glass, the Lightning struck her on the Temple, passed down her Body without fracturing the Skin, burst open her Shoe and passed off. There was another Woman and several Children in the same Room who received no Hurt.
