Full Text

A RUINED INDUSTRY.
Stock stealing in this county has reached a point beyond endurance and owners are confronted with a condition which makes it necessary for them to choose for the future and the result will be that the magnificent stock investments of the county will be closed out. This is nothing less than a public calamity. It is only a few years ago that one half the tax of the county was collected from the live stock holdings. The contrast between then and what is soon to be, is very great, amounting to the total obliteration of an industry which paid one half the taxes. The county is unable to give protection to the cattlemen and consequently it must submit to the loss in taxes.
