COLLEGE PRESIDENT ABANDONS POST

EXPELS GIRL STUDENT-STUDENTS CLAIM HE TRIED FOR KISS

Albion, Mich., Jan. 19.-Newspapermen searched vainly today for Dr. John W. Laird, president of Albion College, who since late yesterday afternoon has not been seen. He is one of youngest college presidents in the country. Trustees, faculty members and students were preparing to investigate disorders at chapel yesterday when Dr. Laird was booed and hissed from the room.

Disorders grew out of his action in expelling a girl student whom he said smoked cigarettes and went on automobile party. A students' committee charges that he tried to kiss the girl.
