When the Governor sent a message to the House on Monday they refused to receive it and speaker Hysell put a motion to adjourn, though the Governor's private secretary stood at the bar of the House with the message in his uplifted hand. Campbell was thus personally insulted by his own party in the Legislature, and the fact that the message was afterward received and the action apologized for does not mend the matter. Campbell's second message is as weak as his first and warrants all the curses he is receiving from the Hamilton county delegation. He has wrecked his own political prospects and will have to bear the heavy blame of the coming defeat which was equally certain before. The situation is full of instruction.
