LATE FROM MARTINIQUE.

Capt. Stevenson, of the pilot boat schr. Tryal
arrived at N. Y. on Thursday from Martinique,
informs, that there were several British men
of war round that island who continued to blockade
it closely, and prevented all American vessels
with provisions from entering the ports, and detained
all they could take coming out. The inhabitants
express but little apprehension from an
expected attack of the English, and had strongly
fortified the place. Provisions were very high
notwithstanding they had enough in the island to
last some time.
