Mrs. J. G. Blaine and Her Divorce
Steps She is Now Taking for Severance of Marriage Bonds.
SIOUX FALLS, S. D., May 29.-Mrs. James G. Blaine, who is here waiting for six months to go by, that she may free herself from her husband, will be divorced in the same old South Dakota way. The story from New York that she will ask the courts to free her because the recent Supreme Court decision annulled her husband's second marriage is not to the young woman's liking. There are several reasons for this attitude on her part, but the principal one is that she does not want to create any precedents that might embarrass her in case of another marriage.
Mrs. Blaine has steadfastly refused to give anyone an interview, but it can be confidently asserted that when her six months of probation have passed her attorney will hold a star-chamber session at the court, and she will secure her decree without any disagreeable notoriety.
Mrs. Blaine's counsel will be the firm of Kittredge, Kinans & Scott, of which Senator Kittredge is the senior member. Scott, another member, became attached to Mrs. Roland B. Molineaux when she was his client and married her.
It is believed Mrs. Blaine arranged the legal matters of her case with Senator Kittredge before she left Washington.
