SAN DIEGO, Calif., Nov. 17. —A division of destroyers has been ordered from San Diego to San Pedro to form a convoy for the U. S. S. Maryland when she starts for South America Monday with President-elect Herbert Hoover aboard.
The destroyers Kennedy, Thompson, Tattnall, Reno, Paul Hamilton and one other not yet named have been ordered to be in San Pedro by 8 a. m. Monday and will escort the Maryland as far south as San Diego. Commander H. B. Reibe will be in command.
