Tallahassee, Dec. 29-The African students who are enrolled in colleges of the South will hold a big "fellowship" conference at the Florida A and M College, in Tallahassee, beginning Friday afternoon, December 31, 1948, and closing Sunday morning, January 2, 1949. The local committee composed of Nmona E. Twe, secretary, and Dean H. Manning Efferson, advisor to foreign students; Malcolm Maycole, Henry Fella, E. D. Okeke, S. O. Ojo, E. O. Mbakweum chairman. Dean Efferson is laying extensive plans for making this initial meeting a great success, and one to be long remembered.
At this conference, a preliminary organization will be set up for promoting a stronger bond of fellowship between the African students enrolled in Southern colleges and a deeper and more lasting appreciation for African culture and for formulating tentative plans for the time and place of a second meeting.
Persons desiring further information should write the advisor, H. M. Efferson, Administrative Assistant, Florida A & M College, Tallahassee, Florida.
The delegates will be provided lodging free and will be furnished meals in the college cafeteria at very nominal rates. The committee urges all delegates to try to reach here Friday afternoon so as to make full use of all the time allotted for the conference.
