ENGAGEMENT ANNOUNCED

Miss Lillian G. Mowry and Dr. Sumner C. Pattee at Searsport.

Searsport, Me., April 9.-(Special).-The engagement of Miss Lillian G. Mowry, only daughter of Mrs. Ella Mowry of Searsport formerly of Roxbury, Mass., and Dr. Sumner C. Pattee of Searsport, son of James Pattee of Belfast, was announced last night by Miss Mowry at a meeting of the Thimble Club held at her home on the Belfast road.

The fun-loving friends of the young woman surmised that something was coming went to the party supplied with confetti which was liberally sprinkled over Miss Mowry as soon as the announcement was made. This part of the announcement was at least a surprise. A dainty luncheon was served at 10 o'clock, the table decorations being in keeping with the Easter season, favors of cute little chicks, rabbits, etc., while the color scheme was pink and white. The menu included chicken patties, rolls, cakes, iced in pink and white, macaroons, salted nuts, bon bons and coffee. Miss Mowry came to Searsport a few years ago and has made a large number of friends who wish her all happiness and who are pleased to know that she will make Searsport her permanent home.
