FOR A $50,000 BUDGET
Biggest boost given the $50,000 budget campaign of the National Negro Business League came recently from the National Negro Insurance Association when this body of top race business executives held their annual convention in Philadelphia, Pa. Horace Sudduth, of Cincinnati, Ohio, president of the leagues, and himself a prominent and successful business man of the Midwest (left) is being congratulated by the retiring president of the N.NIA, Ellis W. Stuart, of Chicago, following his address before the insurance group. The NNIA convention endorsed the campaign unanimously, and many of the insurance executives are presently taking part in the drive in their respective communities.
In the bottom scene President Sudduth (center) is shown with Dr. J. E. Walker (left president - founder of Universal Life Insurance Co., and B. G. Olive, Jr., director of agency for Universal Life during a testimonial dinner in honor of Mr. Olive upon his election to the presidency of the NNIA. The reception, held in Memphis in the new office building of Universal Life, was highlighted with an address by Mr. Sudduth, and a cash subscription of over $2,000.00 for the league budget from business leaders of Memphis. Mr. Olive, a pioneer leader in both the Negro Business League and the NNIA, pledged to back the business organization during his administration.
