The two storms of Thursday morning and night of last week in the vicinity of Dubuque, Iowa, have done great damage. There is a break of seven miles on the Illinois Central railroad, three or four bridges and 500 feet of track being washed away. No trains have arrived at Dubuque since Thursday evening from Chicago over that road. Four or five lives were lost by lightning in Dubuque, and one house was entirely demolished. Another heavy rain on Sunday night last flooded things generally about the same city, sweeping away two bridges on the Illinois Central that had been nearly completed.
