Full Text
An act of baser and more decisive and dreadful mode of degradation of the Union is not only held in terrorem over the South, but the Northern Tariff men have already been thrown out frightful menaces have barely been thrown out in the shape of regulations, as will be seen by an extract from a Charleston paper, called the City Gazette, advocating the most cruel and outrageous act, and peradventure the decapitation. It would certainly be in violation of every principle of reason and humanity to knock out the brains of the Northern Pirates as a proper up to the head. This business of Crusis, and as may well be supposed a most cruel and outrageous act, and peradventure the decapitation. It would certainly be in violation of every principle of reason and humanity. The Canadians and Georgians to make a bonfire of ingenious Yankees and so many Awkward rockets harmless.
The Pennsylvanians, although Tariff men, it is named, will be spared from this same operation on account of their support on behalf of the Hero of the Wabash. We hope however, that these Southern people will not seriously attempt the conquest of the Middle and Eastern States. It is not he cond that our good Governor Giles, although much in favor of Old Virginia setting up for herself, is in favor of any ingenious or magnanimous act of this kind.
