We are informed that letters have been received by the British consul in Philadelphia from gov. Gayoso, intimating that the posts on the Mississippi have been given up by the Spaniards to the American troops some time in December last, and that mr. Ellicott, had commenced running the line. should this agreeable intelligence prove true, and we sincerely hope it is, farmers would do well to increase their crops of hemp, tobacco and other articles of export, as in case of there still blument and good understanding with the Spaniards no doubt can remain but that their produce may be taken to good market. An export trade through the Mississippi is for the citizens of the Ohio country the only way to wealth.
