Approximately 700 depositors today received an aggregate of around $17,000 in Christmas savings money in checks mailed Saturday by the Industrial Bank of Henderson. Cashier M. W. Wester announced. It was the largest Christmas club the bank has yet conducted, and along with the distribution was announcement that the 1941 club is now open.
The largest checks, of which there were a few, were for $256 each, representing weekly deposits of five dollars, and the smallest was $12.50, which was accumulated by 25 cents weekly deposits.
Some depositors returned all or part of their money to regular saving accounts, and others prepared to spend it on Christmas purchases.
