How About Our
Rural Roads?

The county board of supervisors recently voted three to two to approve a recommendation for construction of the highway link which would cause U. S. Highway 99 to pass to the west of Brawley, leaving the north-end community without a state highway. It has been estimated that the job would cost $40,000.

There is not room here to argue the merits of the Brawley cut-off, but it does seem to us that a lot could be done with $40,000 to improve Imperial Valley's farm-to-market roads, which are in far greater need of repair than is any state highway in the valley.
