The grand review and parade of Knights Templar in attendance at the triennial conclave of that order, at Chicago, took place on the 17th, and was a brilliant spectacle. Fully twenty thousand knights were in line, the procession being over five miles long. Chicago was handsomely decorated on the occasion, and a general holiday was observed.
In the competition for the drill prizes the Rapier Commandery, of Indianapolis, took the first prize, the De Molai Commandery, of Louisville, was given the second prize, and the third prize was awarded to the Reed Commandery No. 6, of Dayton, O.
The following officers were elected by the triennial conclave: Benjamin Dean, of Boston, most eminent grand master; R. E. Withers, of Alexandria, Va., deputy grand master; Charles Roome, of New York, grand generalissimo; John H. S. Govin, of Lebanon, Pa., grand captain general; Judge Hugh McCurdy, of Corunna, Mich., grand senior warden; Wm. Larue Thomas, of Danville, Ky., grand junior warden; John W. Simons, of New York, grand treasurer; Theodore S. Parvin, of Iowa City, grand recorder.
