A writer in the Akron Beacon, dating from Coventry, in Summit county, predicts the appearance of locusts the coming year because he has found them in the earth this winter 15 or 20 inches from the surface.

Another writer in the same paper, dating from Tallmadge says the locusts will not appear until 1863, and in proof of his prophecy says that in the spring of 1843 he plowed his orchard, and found thousands of locusts within 8 inches of the surface, but they did not come out until '46, three years later.
