A GRAND SUCCESS.

Thousands See Opening Ceremonies of Spokane's Fair.

Spokane, Oct. 3.—The opening of the sixth annual Spokane Industrial Exposition has proved a grand success in every particular. Miss Jean Goldie Amos of Colfax made a most queenly appearance both in the opening parade and in the exercises at the grounds and especially when she delivered the opening ode written by Mrs. Sara Archer, the talented poetess of Spokane.

The music of the Grand Army band of Canton, Ohio, was grand and the other attractions are proving very popular. The choruses by the 500 school boys and girls brought forth cheers and shouts of delight from the immense throng. Every thing points to the biggest attendance and the greatest success of all the Spokane fruit fairs.
