The New Princess, and the Young Prince.
The story, that the mighty Napoleon has offered a title to King Jerome's wife No. 1, appears to gain some belief. Without expressing an opinion on its claim to credit, we may be excused for suggesting some reasons in favor of the adoption of the young Baltimorean, as an heir to the fortunes and crowns of his Imperial and Royal Majesty. The Corsican Dynasty does not promise to be very prolific. Napoleon has no children, Joseph has none, Lewis is said to have but one, and that rather feeble and sickly, and Jerome has none by his wife No. 2. It would be shocking to have the race become extinct with the present generation, as it bids fair to be, especially, as the presumptive successor of Bonaparte, will expect, of course, to be heir to at least a dozen kingdoms. Now this little Bavarian at Baltimore, will be remarkably well fitted to mount the throne of Europe, as he is, directly or indirectly, allied to more nations, than any other personage in existence, who has any of the Imperial blood in his veins. His father is a French Corsican, his mother an American, her father is an Irishman, and her mother is said to be a Dutch-woman. King Jerome and the New Princess, were married in the United States, the latter remained here until a short time before the birth of the Young Prince, when she went to Europe, and his Highness was born in England. We think he wants nothing to qualify him for universal empire, but to have an opportunity to complete his education in France; and if his adoptive father, as the Newspapers have lately declared, is really Antichrist, by multiplying the young gentleman's heads and horns, and marrying him as soon as he will do, to some descendant on the old well known female Head of the family, the business for which they were originally designed, will all be in their own hands.

The story that Napoleon has offered a title to King Jerome's wife No. 1 gains belief. Reasons favor adopting the young Baltimorean as heir due to the Corsican Dynasty's lack of prolific offspring: Napoleon has no children, Joseph none, Lewis one feeble child, Jerome none by wife No. 2. The child, with mixed French Corsican, American, Irish, and Dutch heritage, born in England, is seen as fitted for European throne, needing only French education.
