On Saturday the 18th inst. the steeple of the Episcopal Church, at Richmond, Staten Island, N. Y. was struck by lightning, which took its course down the steeple, and entered the body of the church, tore up the floor, and threw out a very large stone, and then passed out of the windows. The church was considerably injured—the roof was raised about three inches, and all the glass broke, besides the sashes being torn out. The exertions of the neighbors prevented the church being burnt to the ground.
