"Professor" Ernest G. Price, bon vivant, instructor in music and formerly a prominent member of the English navy, was arrested last night by Officers Briley and Dobkins and is in the city jail to serve out a term for vagrancy.
"Professor" Price gained fame last winter by causing the arrest and trial of Officer Bill Shannon before the police board for assault. Price also came before the public by challenging the Los Angeles Spider to fight a mill in a local theater for the affections of Gussie La Moore, a variety queen and erstwhile wife of "Swiftwater Bill" Gates.
The sentence which Price is to serve was pronounced last winter, but was suspended on good behavior.
