HAWORTH PURCHASES
THE SCOUT
Lester W. Haworth, publisher of the
Reese River Reveille at Austin, has
purchased the Battle Mountain Scout
and will conduct both papers, main-
taining a residence at each of the pro-
gressive Lander county towns. He
will take possession April 1.

He will install a linotype at Battle
Mountain, it is announced, which will
be used as an auxiliary equipment for
the Reveille, enabling him to greatly
improve the Austin paper as well as to
expand the publication at Battle
Mountain, in response to the increas-
ing strides in mineral production in
that locality and the growth of popula-
tion in the town.

The Scout will continue as hereto-
fore, independent in politics.
