Dr. Julian Named To
Research Post at Fisk

Dr. Percy Lavon Julian,
world renowned chemist, Spingarn
Medalist, 1947, friend and
board member of Fisk Univer-
sity will come to Fisk in a new
role this month. He will con-
tinue at Fisk a series of re-
search projects that he has
been conducting for the past
twenty years. It has been his
plan to carry on at various in-
stitutions certain researches
designed to develop young
scientists. Dr. Julian is well
acquainted with the Research
Program at Fisk, having been
a consultant at various times
since he was an instructor of
chemistry from 1920-1922.

Since the first of the year
Dr. Julian has assumed res-
ponsibilities as head of his own
research laboratory, The Sub-
urban Chemical Company, Oak
Park, Illinois. Since 1932 he has
been director of the Soya Prod-
ucts Division of the Glidden
Company of Chicago.
