Dunn's Lions will hold their Thursday night meeting in Benson when the new club there observes charter night. Jesse Capps, president of the local club has announced.
The Benson Club was organized by the Four Oaks Club in Johnston County several weeks ago.
Thursday night's meeting will be held at the American Legion hut. Some 250 Lions and their wives are expected to attend from a number of towns in the area.
Loris K. Davis of Rocky Mount, president of the State Association for the Blind, will act as master of ceremonies and the Melody Masters of Four Oaks will provide the entertainment.
Shelton Moore is president of the new club at Benson. Joe Levinson is chairman of Charter night and James Thornton is in charge of the entertainment.
Other officers of the new club are: Lacy Warren, first vice president; Theron Barbour, second vice president; Fulton Moore, third vice president; Harvey Raynor, Jr. secretary; Telpher Lee, treasurer; I. A. Tart, Tail Twister and James Thornton, Lion Tamer.
Will Woodall, Joe Levinson, Bob Tart, and Harvey Raynor, Sr., are on the Board of Directors.
Charter members of the club in addition to the officers noted include: Charles Woodall, Clarence Adams, C. M. Blackman, Otis McLamb, James Rose, Nowell Smith, Jr., John Bonner, Morris Hardee, Brantley McLamb, Dwight Barbour, Ernest Strickland, Alonzo Barbour and William Cagle.
