A very fine sermon was delivered by our minister, the Rev. Floyd Massey. Jr., Sunday, Jan. 15. "Lobbyists of the Spirit" was the title of the sermon, and his text was found in the seventh chapter of St. John.
Too many of us pay lip service to Jesus, the pastor stated. and serve him with indifference. We are soulless and purely materialistic and selfish. We must work toward the righteousness of things.
The church's task is to find peace for the world, genuine peace, by exploring the spiritual realm. Man cannot organize it for it comes from the heart.
The children's story was entitled, "The Living Snowman."
One visitor, Mrs. Melva Martin of Macomb, Ill., was welcomed At the evening service. Mrs. Paralee Milligan was the guest speaker for the Missionary Society service. Her topic was "Nature's Greatest Gift."
Sunday, Jan. 22, Rev. Massey's topic will be "Almost Persuaded." At the 8 p. m. hour, the Gospel Chorus Midwinter concert will be given.
