Three midwestern truck drivers discovered that it does not pay to trifle while intoxicated in El Centro. Thursday morning in Judge Lee Nuffer's police court they found the judge unwilling to listen to mixed and conflicting stories concerning their actions Wednesday at midnight, when it was alleged, according to the police and a complaint that they followed Mr. and Mrs. Bill Denton of Third and Main several blocks in a car tossing alleged insulting and profane language at the couple. The climax of their remarks came when they unloaded from the car at Third and Denton attacked the three men whom he charged accosted he and his wife. For their offenses Nuffer sentenced Fred Alford, 27, Arkansas, R. C. Chrisman, 29, Iowa, and James K. Parker, 23, Oklahoma, each to 90 days in the city jail.
Alford who, it was asserted, was knifed in the scuffle received treatment at the hospital.
