MAN HITS WIFE WITH
A
LIGHTED LAMP.

Much excitement was created in the vicinity directly back of the city jail early last night when Henry Mack struck his wife a telling blow on the head with a large kerosene lamp and which resulted in, not only injuring her, but the room was soon ablaze and the participants stopped fighting each other and fought fire to a finish, finally succeeding in extinguishing the blaze. Mack, the man who evidently had murder in his heart when he threw the lamp, escaped before the arrival of officers.
