Annual elections tomorrow in New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, Kansas, Missouri, and Nevada are anticipated to reflect a change in public sentiment, potentially reducing Republican majorities from 1866 toward conservatives. A table outlines 1866 vote totals, Radical majorities, and required conservative vote increases for victory.
Merged-components note: The table at reading_order 46 directly follows and supports the 'The Turning Tide' story at reading_order 45, providing election data as part of the same logical component, so merged under domestic_news.

To-morrow the annual elections will be held in the States of New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, Kansas, Missouri, and Nevada. At the elections of 1866 the whole of these States, with the exception of Maryland and Delaware, gave Republican majorities; but there are sound reasons for believing that the elections to-morrow will show a considerable change in public feeling and party politics.
The following table shows the total number of votes cast, and the Radical majorities, at the elections of last year in the States named, and the increase in the conservative vote required to insure a conservative victory:
Total vote. Rad'l. Maj'y Increase required in Conservative Vote to insure a Conservative
This is upon the presumption that the total number of votes cast will be about the same as last year; and it will be seen how small an advance in the conservative spirit will, in several States, enable conservative men to carry the day.
