BARTENDERS
ELECT OFFICERS

At a well-attended February meeting of Bartenders' Local Union No. 169, Hamilton, a new set of officers were elected to serve that organization for one year. The newly elected officers are as follows:

Charles Elble, president.
Robert Novak, vice president.
Thomas Brennan, business agent and financial secretary.
John Laubach, recording secretary
Richard Herdman, treasurer.
John N. Bowers, inspector.
Paul Falconi, press agent.
Robert Knodel, Eugene Issenman and Wm. Gaughn, trustees.

From the above line-up the bartenders' organization should continue to prosper and be one of the city's foremost labor unions, which they have been ever since organizing four years ago.

While we have given the names and titles of the new officers of No. 169, it is well to remember the officers who were elected at the organization's first meeting on Saturday, January 26, 1934. Ike Miller was elected president; Dave Foley, vice president; Thomas Brennan, financial secretary; Robert Pickturney, corresponding secretary, and Richard Herdman, business agent. At the beginning of the union only eighteen members answered the roll call. Through the united efforts of the first officers and the members, they now boast of one hundred and fifteen members. A very few of the bartenders are now out of employment part time, but the balance are working steady, with the house card prominently displayed in all leading cafes and with signed agreements.

As a true trades unionist and a careful observer, see that the bartender waiting on you has his March button the colors of which are blue and white, and with a green outline.
