An Electric Lamp Campaign To Be Directed By REA
I. E. S. Lamps Are Selected. Members May Purchase On Installment Plan.
An I. E. S. electric lamp campaign will be launched in Ashe, Alleghany, Watauga and Caldwell counties in the near future, by the Caldwell Mutual Corporation, in co-operation with the REA and I. E. S. lamp dealers in the four counties, Supt. G. F. Messick announced here this week.
The slogan of the campaign will be "better light, better sight" and complete details will be announced in a letter to all REA members.
In discussing the plan with dealers here this week, Mr. Messick said that REA in Washington had selected the I. E. S. "because they are the finest lamps that are made".
These lamps will be available to REA members at about one-half of their former retail cost because of arrangements made by REA officials, he stated.
The lamps are made according to specifications outlined by the Lighting Engineering Society of America and will be sold to members at $9.95 per pair, and members can secure them by paying 95 cents down and the rest divided in regular monthly installments, he explained.
Full details of the plan will be announced later.
