Carpenters, painters and plumbers have "taken over" our general office building during April and May to make for nothing less than a transformation in its appearance and appointments.
Sound absorbing tan walls and white ceilings supplant dusty beaverboard. Shiny ivory trim and polished red floor tile takes the place of oil stained boards. Air conditioning is being installed.
Here are some of our men in action on our '54 "face lifting" project.
Left top - David Greer painting light fixture in the Payroll Office. Center top Elsworth Sheridan laying the new floor.
Right top - Ed Bearden and Ted Martin working on trim for front doorway. Center - Albert Wise measuring and cutting wall paneling. Lower left center - Bill Sharp and Thelmar Williams tack up pure white ceiling panel in the mail room.
Lower left - David Greer brightens up the laboratory corridor baseboard.
The rung of the ladder was never meant to rest on, but only to hold a man's foot long enough to enable him to put the other higher.
