NEW YORK. June 30. (UP)
Wendell L. Willkie received the Jewish War Veterans 1941 American leadership award today at a luncheon in the Waldorf Astoria.
Presented by Fred S. Harris, national commander of the Jewish War Veterans, the citation accompanying the award said it was given for his "splendid example of selfless patriotism, which is and will continue to be an inspiration to the people of the United States, for his statesmanlike understanding that the primary need of the hour is national unity, and for his intellectual honesty and physical courage."
