YOUR VOTE TOMORROW MAY BE
FATAL TO VALDEZ.
How will you vote tomorrow?
Will you vote for a bigger, better
and more prosperous Valdez, or do
you wish to continue the unseemly
squabble of the past eight years?
A vote for Mr. Wickersham means
a vote against the best interests of
Valdez.
Mr. Wickersham's unceasing fight
the past eight years against the Road
Commission,
the Valdez-Fairbanks
trail, and the town itself has worked
irreparable injury to the city.
If Mr. Wickersham is elected and
continues his vindictive fight to have
the Road Commission headquarters
removed to Juneau, the military post
removed to Seward or Anchorage, and
the cable headquarters removed to
Yard, Valdez will be a city of the
past. These organizations bring many
thousands of dollars into our city.
Their loss would be deeply felt by
every man in our town, whether he
be a supporter of the fighting dele-
gate or a friend of some other candi-
date.
The Delegate has fomented strife
and discord in our midst; and has
alienated the friendship of neighbor
for neighbor.
Our fight against the Delegate has
been confined solely to his record.
Personally we believe him to be a very
able lawyer and politician; but an
utter failure as a representative of
this great Territory.
He is arrayed against every interest
necessary for the upbuilding of our
city.
We do not charge that Mr. Wick-
ersham's election will wreck the Ter-
rritory, but we believe it will kill the
city of Valdez's ultimate chances for
rapid growth.
The future of the town is in your
hands.
We ask you to consider well the
effect Mr. Wickersham's election will
have upon our town.
We believe you are honest and con-
scientious in your preference for the
Delegate; but we do not believe you
I have investigated his record,
We believe he has held the office
long enough. There is no use giving
a man a life-time job at the govern-
ments expense.
Try another man for Delegate for
the next two years and if he does not
show more beneficial results than we
have obtained in the past, then place
Mr. Wickersham back in office.
A change in the Delegation at this
time would work incalculable good to
the town.
If you love your town and do not
wish to see it wiped off the map, do
not cast your vote for
James Wickersham for Delegate!
