PRESTON.
(From Our Regular Correspondent.)
Preston, Oct. 1.-Mrs. Emmett Cook, of Cusseta, who is visiting her mother, Mrs. Emma King near here, was in town Saturday morning on a shopping expedition.

Mr. Sterling Jenkins of Columbus, spent Saturday and Sunday here very pleasantly with his brother Mr. W. E. Jenkins.

Miss Lula Towrey residing near here, was a fair visitor in town last week.

Mrs. B. F. Goss, living near Preston, was in town one day recently shopping.

Mr. John Ed Terry, of Shellman, was shaking hands with friends here last week.

Mr. Emmett Cartledge of Columbus, spent Sunday in town, the guest of his cousin, Mr. W. E. Jenkins.

Mrs. T. J. Welch and Mrs. Roy Fussell spent Saturday night and Sunday in Plains, the guests of relatives there.

Miss Bessie Cato has returned to her home in Parrott, after a visit of some length here.

Dr. J. F. Lunsford made a business trip to Americus one day last week.

Mr. John Christian spent Sunday very pleasantly with friends in Dawson.

Mr. W. E. Jenkins was a business visitor in Americus Monday evening, returning home Monday night.

Mrs. H. R. Belcher of Vienna, is spending this week here, on a visit to her venerable father, Major Jas. P. Walker.

Messrs. H. M. Little and J. C. Tullis, were business visitors in town one day recently.

Miss Maud Stokes was a fair visitor in Americus several days ago.

Mrs. Will S. Bell, who has been visiting her mother, Mrs. Nicholson, at Plains, has returned home.

Miss Nettie Christian spent Sunday out of town, the guest of relatives.

Mr. J. W. Bell was a business visitor from Richland in town one day this week.

Little Hoyl Souter, son of Col. and Mrs. J. F. Souter, who has been quite sick, is much better.
