Full Text

GENERAL BUTLER'S HOME—Carroll county, in which General Butler resides, has given Taylor a majority of 17—a Whig gain since the last August election. Carrollton, Gen. Butler's own town, gave Taylor a majority of 47. We are told that Gen. Butler was about the polls all day, shaking hands and doing the agreeable to the 'dear people.' We are told that the General even voted for himself, but this we can hardly believe. But all wouldn't do. His own county, which has lately gone for the Democrats, and in August gave a majority for Powell, the Loco candidate for Governor, went against him.—Lou. Courier.
