A Fast Man.—Dr. Hayne, the notorious swindler and bigamist, ran off from New Orleans on the 19th of February last, arrived at Cincinnati on the 10th March, married Mrs. Howe on the 18th, left her on the 19th, and after visiting St. Louis, Nashville, and other places, arrived at Paducah on the 3d of April, courted and engaged himself on the 4th and 5th, was married on the 11th, left here on the 14th, was arrested at Claresville on the 15th, was brought back on the 16th, was put on trial on the 27th, found guilty on the 28th, sentenced on the 1st May, started to the penitentiary on the 2d, reached there on the 4th, and was put to spinning hemp on the 5th. Thus in 25 days he married two wives, traveled some 1,500 miles, told 4,000 lies, and in 20 days more was arrested, tried, and lodged in the State prison. He is a "fast man."
