The Washington correspondent of the N Y. Herald, writing on Sunday last, says:

The Rev. Dr. Garnet, of New York, colored preacher, officiated in the Hall of the House of Representatives to-day much to the disgust of some of those who attend service at the Capitol who believe that a second class Heaven is to be provided for negroes in the other world. It was acknowledged that the worthy Doctor had the advantage in ability and eloquence of some of his white brethren who have officiated there this season.
